Shirt Photos!– SHIRT SALE ENDED

We got our shirts today. I’m sorry it took so long, but here is a bit more about sizes and stuff from our experience…

Here is what we are wearing:
Lena- 3T. She is about 36″ and 28lbs.
Reed- 5/6. He is about 42″ and about 40lbs.
Me- Adult Small. I am not going to share my height and weight, but I can tell you this shirt fits very typically for an Adult Small.
Aaron- Adult Medium. Again, fits like most other adult mediums.

The kids’ shirts DO run small. About a size at the most. Lena usually wears 2T shirts and Reed is between a 4T and a 5T. The brand is Rabbit Skins. We have some other shirts from this brand, and they also run small.

This is how we started off our photos. I asked her what was wrong and she told me, “Weeeed.” “What about Reed?” “He dancing.” “He can dance if he wants to.” Then I started singing Safety Dance.

Untitled
This was not posed. He is naturally that heroic looking.

Untitled
It’s safe to dance.

Untitled
We can dance!

Untitled
Everything’s out of control!

We can dance!

I have decided I have enough self esteem to post this photo on the internet.

Yeah, way to miss out on the fun there, Aaron.

Seeing the shirts in person, my favorite colors are black and blue. That being said, I always migrate towards blue and neutrals anyways as they are more universally flattering, but I think those two look really slick with this design.

Go buy a shirt and be cool like us! You can check out this link for details, but they will be on sale until November 29th and then will ship around the middle of December so you will have them by Christmas.

One more thing, we will have a private blog while we are traveling again. If I definitely know your email address, you can just leave me a comment asking to follow or you can shoot me an email, either via the Jot Form or my email address, listed at the right.

Super Shirts!– ENDED

The Superman Shirts are now for pre-order. I will be taking orders until November 29th and then I will order all of the shirts, so you can have them by Christmas. They will ship the week of December 12th.

Infant, Toddler and Youth sizes run a bit small, so order a size up. I have ordered shirts for our family to sample, and have not received them yet. When I receive them, I will have a better idea of how they fit and will update you all.
How to order: You can purchase two different ways, either via the chip-in on the right side OR through my Etsy store. Whichever way you purchase, please include your shirt size and color choice.
If ordering through the chip-in, shirts are $18 for 6 month through Adult X-Large. Adult XX-Large and Adult XXX-Large are $20. Shipping is $2 per shirt within the US.  If you are ordering 3 or more or live outside the US, contact me so that I can calculate the shipping cost. Please email me or leave a comment on my blog telling me what size and color you need. I cannot see the comments on the chip-in, but I can see your name, email and how much you paid.
Please let me know if you have any questions! Thank you for helping us bring Helen home!

This post is sponsored by the Aunt Rachel wants Reed and Scarlett home council

My name is Rachel, and Molly has allowed me to take over her blog for a night. Aaron is my twin brother, which makes Molly my sister-in-law and makes me lucky to have such a great family! It has been so exciting to watch their progress over the last six months and to see how close they are to the end! They have told me stories about being supported by people they have known for a long time, people they just met, and complete strangers.
I would like to continue this support by inviting all of you to join me in donating one of your Christmas presents to Scarlett and Reed. You could do this by selecting one person you normally receive a gift from (moms would be great for this!) and ask them to donate how much they would have spent on a present to Scarlett and Reed (through this handy blog) instead of giving you a present this year. By donating your present, you are helping Aaron and Molly bring them home, and I can’t think of a single present that I need more than they need a loving home. Think of the difference we could make if we all donated just one present for these two beautiful children. I know this is not for everyone and that is absolutely okay, but I wanted to invite all of you to join me if you want to. Thanks for listening, and thanks for your help.

I Love Them

My Family is lovely. I blogged before about the great garage sale Aaron’s family had for us. Aaron’s family is lovely too. My in-laws have done A LOT for us. But this post is about my family. Sorry, in-laws.

They blow me away with their generosity. The t-shirt fundraiser. Coffee fundraiser. Donating money. Giving us children’s books. Picking up stuff we needed at Ikea. Offering to make curtains for their room. One sister writing a recommendation letter and the other proof-reading it. My family is awesome.
Then, I get an email from my mom “can you order me some big photos of Reed and Scarlett for our garage sale?” Um, hello? A garage sale?
My mom and my biggest sister* had been planning it for weeks and kept it as a secret to us. Until she needed my help ordering some photos. Even then, I had to pry to find out what was up.
They raised $400 for Reed and Scarlett!
I think my family is pretty amazing. And you know what was extra amazing, their neighbors pitched in, too. Four different neighbors brought over things for them to sell. They didn’t ask their neighbors to donate anything. This morning, they just showed up, boxes in hands, for our fundraiser. Some of these people Aaron and I know and I have been friends with for years. But, one of their neighbors, we’ve never met before.
This really, really blows me away. Lots of people with big hearts live in those two blocks in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
*I can get away with calling her my biggest sister right now, because she is not only the oldest, but she is also 7 MONTHS PREGNANT! Yes, my parents will be going from 4 grandkids to 7 grandkids (new baby + Reed + Scarlett) in the month of November!

Garage Sale Feedback

My sister-in-law, Rachel, emailed me a few days ago, to share some of the stories from their garage sale. I wanted to share this with you all. As I mentioned before, they did not price anything for the sale. They had info about our adoption & asked people to donate whatever they felt was right. It sounds like it was a very positive experience…

I have to share a few stories from the garage sale, I was amazed by how caring some people were.  There were a few people that took advantage of the no-price policy, but overall people were so great.  There were several people that just gave us a dollar or two as they were leaving, they didn’t buy anything but they just wanted to donate to the kids.  There were a lot of people that shared stories about people they knew who had adopted or were looking into adoption, and they understood how difficult the process was and what it meant.  One lady bought two books and one small item and gave us 20 dollars and didn’t want any change, one lady had her kids give us each a dollar and then showed them the pictures of Reed and Scarlett and talked to them about where their money was going.  It sounds a little crazy, but it was really an good experience, I felt like I saw a really good side of people this weekend (which I don’t think usually happens at a garage sale!). “
