The kids did, at least, have a friend come over for part of the day.
And that’s about all that happened today.
Today was the second snow day. It finished snowing sometime overnight and apparently, we got 14.5″.
It was sunny, but bitter cold. Aaron still managed to shovel our driveway. And, I took Gus outside for a few minutes of snow exploration.
He has the least winter gear of any of our kids, so his attire was a bit mis-matched, grabbing things of Lena’s as needed.

That face.

He was really pretty fascinated.
I couldn’t help but do this. Same toy, opposite weather. How I long for the heat of summer.

Gus really didn’t last long. It was fun, fun, fun, then “I want to go inside.” “Okay, just a minute, alright?” “NOW!!!!!!!”
I did have to come back out on my own for a few minutes to take pictures of some of the truly massive icicles which cover our house.

…winter won’t last forever, right?
Hoodie up, and he is a dinosaur, ready to attack.
Hoodie down and he is my sweet Gus.

He’d dash behind the chair and jump out as his alter-ego.

In hysterics that I seemed surprised.

We’ve had a few silly talks recently which remind me how much he is growing up…
[At a store]
Gus: What’s dat, mama?
Me: Something for big boys.
Gus: I need dat.
[Discussing potty learning]
Gus: Why, mama?
Me: That’s what big kids do.
Gus: I nap? I legos?
…already thinking of other things big boys get to do… or avoid.
And a silly one…
[Lena flings open the bathroom door]
Lena: Hello!
Gus: How YOU doin?
Yes, growing up. But those baby-like features that seems so evident in profile? I adore them.

It’s been awhile since we’ve had playdough in our house. I had to pack up some of the larger toys awhile ago, and the giant box of play dough toys was among that. Gus might have played with play dough before that, or possibly at his grandparents’ house. Or, this might have been his introduction.
It was a sticky one. The kids wanted to help me make it.

But, it was still VERY sticky by the time they got it.
The boys did not last long. Neither of them is fond of sticky.
His little face reminds me of his brother’s face when we tried to bake cookies almost 3 years ago…

I decided to ask Gus the traditional 20 birthday questions yesterday, to start a record for him. I knew I probably wouldn’t get a real answer for most of these, so I put what he said when I got an answer. In brackets, I put what I think it really is.
