The Most Boring Day (Day 44)

We didn’t do much today. The temperatures here were in the negative (in Fahrenheit) all day.

We did venture out for some lunch and to explore.

I thought Aaron’s lunch was kind of funny. I love how the sausages are like little claws.

We Skyped with the kids for a little bit today. This scary blur is Reed. He was a bit too busy bouncing around to Skype with us. Lena seemed like she’s a bit mad at us, but that’s not surprising.

This is the view outside of our apartment window. Exciting, huh? It snowed steadily all day today, but it was very light.

But tomorrow we meet Baby A!!!!!! AHHHHHHH! Our facilitator is picking us up in 8 hours, so I need to get to sleep. Goodnight!

We’re here!

We have arrived in Moscow.

Here is day 42. Say goodbye to the little people. 😦

Can you guess the US airport we flew through?

This is my super lazy day 42. This is the inside of our apartment. We arrived here may 45 minutes ago. Can you tell what’s on the TV? It’s an American show and it was in English.

We are looking forward to have a lazy day tomorrow and catching up on sleep, but we’re so excited to meet Anderson on Tuesday!!!

Dot and Roscoe (Days 38 and 40)

I needed some time on Tuesday to get some things done without the kids needing anything. So, I built them a fort in their room. It wasn’t super exciting or elaborate, but it was a different little space where they could crawl around.

I may have told them that forts are a special place where only kids can go. No grown-ups allowed.

forgot
Err, so I may have not taken a single photo yesterday. Oops! No day 39.

But, I took a bunch of photos today…

We had to take one of our dogs to the vet. She was sick last night and I was afraid that there was something seriously wrong with her and I wanted to get it addressed before we left. So, we all went off to the vet and the vet diagnosed her with… an upset stomach. Oh well, I am relieved to know it’s nothing serious.

Lena had a rough day. She gets that we will be leaving soon and she is not happy about it at all. 😦 The main thing she wants to do is cuddle. She smiled through her tears.

Danae brought us pizza. That girl is awesome. She knew I was super stressed, so she told me that she’d take care of dinner!

My sister sent a package today for Anderson, including this monkey that she made.

We’re going WHERE?!?

Reed and Lena really got a kick out of the monkey tonight. I explained to them that it was for their little brother, but they could play with him gently. They wanted the monkey to help them get ready for bed and tuck them in. It was pretty cute!

ETA: I forgot to tell you why I named the post this. Reed has started calling Lena “Roscoe” and she’s started calling him “Dot”. I am not sure why!

One of the funniest moments of our night was when I was tickling Lena and she said “Stop… I’ll poop!”

Getting Ready (Day 37)

Obviously, this week is a lot of preparation for us.

Reed knows that our trip means he gets to spend time on the farm… with tractors! I was so impressed that he drew this!

This was one of my many projects for the day, finishing Anderson’s baby book. I didn’t sew the top, but I used a little piece of embroidery floss to knot through the plastic and the fabric so the pictures can’t be pulled out. You can’t even see it here, but it’s right in that blue thing above R’s head. I love this baby book. Thank you again, Danae!
