We usually hang around school for a bit after I pick Reed and Lena up. Since Lena has been in kindergarten, she learned how to swing and it’s one of her favorite things to do.

Capturing October: Silly
This was hard. Not because silly is a hard thing to capture with kids, but because at the end of the day, I had so many pictures to go through. But, I decided to limit myself to just one. One photo that could stand alone to reflect that word, without explanation.
Reed and Gus played this morning as we waited for Lena to finish getting ready school. I’m not sure what Gus did, but Reed told him, “That is really uncorrect.”
Then I noticed what was actually “uncorrect”… he had Gus’s pants on, as really tight, unzippable shorts. 12m pants, on my child who wears size 6 pants. Eeep.

Capturing October: a photo challenge
For the month of October, my favorite month of crisp, beautiful fall, I am challenging myself to get out my camera every day. And, be intentional to capture some of my favorite things about fall, as well as forcing myself to get creative with my camera. And, while it’s short notice… you’re invited to join me!
Each day has a simple, open idea to capture. Really a starting place.
You don’t have to be a photographer. Or even own a camera. You just have to have something that takes pictures and be up for some fun.

30 Days of Thankful: Day 30
Today, I’m thankful for my friends. I have tried to come up with some brilliant words to tell you how much I adore my friends, but I can’t. Everything we’ve been through in the past few years has shown me what it means to be a friend– not by my own actions, but by all of the love I’ve been shown. I’m thankful for the friends who stuck it out with me and for the friends who got to know me in the middle of all of the craziness that is my life and love me anyways!
30 Days of Thankful: Day 28 & Day 29
Day 28: I’m thankful for the quiet moments. This on the couch moment actually happened. Blues Clues was on and Gus was interested enough that he sat down to watch it with them while I made dinner. Only for about 10 minutes, but that was 10 minutes I had to myself!
Our quiet time was also supported by a great package we got from my mom yesterday. It was filled with lots of great stuff, including a bunch of VHS tapes my mom picked up at a church bazaar. Yes, we still have a VCR and used VHS tapes are way cheaper than Blu Ray!

Day 29: Today, I’m thankful for our big fenced in yard. The kids (and dogs) spend SO much time out there playing.
