Project 365: Days 25, 26, & 27

Just a little bit of normalcy…

Reed himself a paper hat on Tuesday.

My girl and I, before we got the news yesterday. I love this girl. She has spent a lot of time giving me hugs. I decided she gives the world’s bestest hugs.

I baked cookies last night. I put most of them away, but then I forgot the last batch. I woke up this morning to this note. Nina is one of our dogs and she is a known cookie lover.

Laundry, Zingo (Day 23)

Lena was exhausted this evening, so she went to bed early. Meanwhile, I asked Reed if he’d help me with the laundry and then the three of us would play Zingo, the game he got for his birthday.

Folding and putting away his and Lena’s laundry is one of the easiest tasks that he can do. Lena can do it, too, but Reed does it in about a quarter of the time it takes her. Since we got this dresser with drawers right at their height, it has been their job to fold and put away their clothes. It’s awesome!

We have played Zingo a lot since Reed got it, but it was a different dynamic without Lena. It was fun.

I wish I had gotten a photo with Lena in it, too. They both chose to wear their Superman shirts today. And we went over to Topeka and got some more papers apostilled. Our paperwork is so close to being complete. What we are finishing up now is supplemental stuff for court, to make it very clear that we are the perfect family for Helen.

Sugar Cookies (Day 21)

The bad part about blogging a photo every day is that you realize when your kid wears the same shirt two days in a row. But apparently Aaron washed it, so we’re all good.

Today was a fun day. We went to the bank this morning and got some papers notarized. Hopefully the last stuff we’ll need to get notarized for awhile, except for some paperwork to leave with Aaron’s family while we are out of the country. Hopefully the last adoption-related paperwork. Yay for that!

Danae and Kyle came over for dinner tonight and Danae brought sugar cookie dough. The plan was to roll out the dough and cut them out with cookie cutters. That didn’t go so well, so we just made them into little circles.

Trying to scoop them out.

Decorating cookies is hard work… you need to focus.

It was a lot of fun and we have a lot of colorful, yummy cookies to show for it. Thanks, Danae and Kyle!
